With the completion of our support centre in Ayr, it has been transformed into the region’s only dedicated complete support facility for children, young people and adults affected by cancer in Ayrshire. This was a major capital undertaking and we are delighted with the project outcome.
Similar to our Kilmarnock Centre, the Ayr Centre has a warm and welcoming drop-in centre, therapeutic garden and includes rooms dedicated to counselling, complementary therapies and support groups.
In addition to this, it has bespoke spaces for children and young people, including a children’s sensory garden and equipment, generously sponsored by Spifox. We would like to thank the Trustees of Spifox for this special contribution which will greatly enhance the support work we can provide.
Our thanks also go to Total Turfing Ltd for the time and care taken on landscaping at our Ayr Centre. We are delighted to have welcoming outdoor spaces which can be enjoyed by children, young people and adults affected by cancer and their loved ones.
Over the past six months we have held several opening events for our volunteers, founding sponsors, corporate partners, community supporters, Hope & Memories Window donors and our neighbours. Thank you to everyone who attended these events and contributed to their success. If you haven’t had a chance to pop in yet, we’d love to see you. Our drop-in centre is open Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm and our fabulous volunteers are on hand to ensure you have a warm welcome.
