Ayrshire’s Big Boxing Day Dip 2025

There’s no set fundraising target - every contribution makes a difference. Last year, our amazing Big Boxing Day Dip participants raised almost £28,000, helping Ayrshire Cancer Support provide vital services.

Whether you’re new to the event or returning for another dip, you can set a goal that feels right for you, and if you’ve taken part before, why not challenge yourself to match or even beat your previous total?

To keep providing our vital services across Ayrshire, we need to raise £3,000 every single day - and we can’t do it without the support of people like you. By taking part in the Big Boxing Day Dip, you’re helping local people affected by cancer access essential care, including hospital transport, counselling, complementary therapies, and many other services for all ages. 

With 1 in 2 people in the UK affected by cancer during their lifetime, the demand for these services has never been greater.

Getting involved couldn’t be easier. Simply register on this page, set up your JustGiving page, and join us at Ayr Beach on Boxing Day at 11am - it’s that simple. 

The standard registration fee is £10, but those who register during October can take advantage of the early bird rate of £5.

You can take part individually or as a group, just make sure each group member registers individually. We love to see participants get creative, so why not make a splash in fancy dress? Bring your friends and family along too - whether they’re dipping or cheering from the sidelines, there will be plenty of fun for everyone this Boxing Day. 

Please note: Under 16’s dip for free, must be accompanied by an adult.

Here's what you'll need to bring:

• A large towel 
• A change of cosy dry clothes 
• Footwear (sandals or old trainers work well) 
• Family and friends for support!

And most importantly - remember to have fun! The Scottish sea might be chilly, but with a quick splash, a big fluffy towel, and the thought of supporting a great cause, you’ll make it through with a smile.
