Our Support Services
Our Care Services Team continues to deliver our impactful services to the people that need us, and following the completion of our previous strategy, we undertook some scoping to plan how we hope to develop services between now and 2030.
We had engagement events and surveyed the people that use our services to collect feedback, and have developed our action plan to respond to this. We’re delighted to be able to show you our new 2025-2030 Strategy.
“I wouldn't be at this point in my life without Paul. I didn't think I was a counselling type of person and every week I went, I thought he'll not be able to help me this week, but he always did. I wasn't suicidal but I felt Paul "saved" me a couple times.”
This year has seen the development of some new services, including a Breast Cancer Peer Support Group - for people to connect, learn and share experiences; a four week Living With Uncertainty Course – to support people living with an incurable or rare cancer; and a Universal Prehabilitation Workshop – to help people newly diagnosed and their families get ready for treatment.
This workshop, better known as ‘Prehab’ is facilitated by our Cancer Support Specialist and focuses on emotional wellbeing, nutrition and exercise.
Engaging in prehab can help improve physical and emotional health, reduce side effects of treatments, decrease the likelihood of hospital admission, help people to gain a sense of control, and connect them with support services and peers, from the point of diagnosis. This workshop runs monthly. Please contact us for more information.
The number of groups, courses, and workshops facilitated by us or partner organisations has continued to grow over the last year. You can visit the What’s On section of our website to see the full list.
