Our Commitment
Our Commitment to Cancer Care and Support in Ayrshire.
Our commitment is to:
- Provide a range of free cancer care and support services helping to better meet the emotional, practical and social needs of anyone in Ayrshire affected by cancer. Through dedication, we work to improve the wellbeing and quality of life of those living with cancer and provide support for their families, carers and loved ones in line with the Psychological Therapies and Support Framework for People Affected by Cancer.
- Partnership Working: we believe in the strength of collaboration and partnership working to provide the optimal outcomes for those affected by cancer in Ayrshire and deliver the relevant parts of the Scottish Government Cancer Strategy and Action Plan.
- Understanding the wider impact of a cancer diagnosis and the external factors, such as deprivation, that create inequality in diagnosis, treatment, support, and outcomes.
- Auditing and refining our governance, financial and regulatory processes and procedures to comply with legal requirements and to implement best practice.
We do this through:
- Integrity: we do the right things, we build trust and respect, we uphold the Codes of the organisations we are members of.
- Accountability: we do what we say we will do, we provide compassionate care, we adhere to ethical fundraising, we are all individually responsible for our collective performance.
- Excellence: we strive for excellence in everything we do, for continuous growth and improvement, for the wellbeing of our teams (staff, volunteers, those who use our services).
- Teamwork: we are one team, we collaborate towards shared objectives, we help and support each other.
"As Ayrshire’s leading cancer support organisation our aim is to provide the best possible local support for people affected by cancer in Ayrshire and to collaborate with those providing cancer support services on the Isle of Arran."
