Like many other Ayrshire wains, I have lost a loved one to Cancer and know just how much impact it can have not just on the person with Cancer but to their surrounding Family and friends. This is why Charities like Ayrshire Cancer Support are vital to helping support the people of Ayrshire when they need it most."

"I am extremely honoured and very proud to be a patron and supporter of Ayrshire Cancer Support.

With more than one in two of us being diagnosed with cancer, and having to face the toughest of fights, we need that special support - now more than ever.

ACS has been providing this vital care for over 40 years. From listening and giving emotional or practical support to providing free transport to patients receiving treatment in hospital. Supporting a patient’s mental health can be just as important as the physical treatments. A diagnosis can instantly throw you, and your loved ones, onto an emotional rollercoaster taking you on a journey that visits every emotion possible.

I personally took this journey last year when my wife was diagnosed. ACS are always there to help guide you through and that is why I'm always there to support them."

As an Ayrshire lass, I have seen first hand how Ayrshire Cancer Support make a real difference to a loved one going through cancer and to their friends and families who’s lives have also been affected. I am eager to help support the incredible and vital work they do. I would also like to thank them for this opportunity as patron to do so.”

"I'm absolutely honoured to be asked to be a patron for Ayrshire Cancer Support. I know firsthand what it's like to lose someone to this horrible disease, and I've watched friends and families go through the same, as well as the heartbreaking effects of trying to stay strong and hold it together for the person going through it.

This is why charities like Ayrshire Cancer Support are so important, so people know they can turn to somewhere and receive the support they want and need in their hardest of times. I'm excited to be a part of this amazing charity."

Fraser Boyle

Ayrshire born star of the stage .

"I am absolutely delighted to be an ambassador for Ayrshire Cancer Support. This is such an important charity. 1 in 2 of us will suffer from cancer in our lifetimes. Although it's a scary word it's not something I believe we should be afraid of speaking about - even laughing about where we can!

As someone who has recently undergone my own successful cancer treatment (and continual monitoring) I am all too aware of the support needed by those battling cancer. I was absolutely terrified when I got my diagnosis but the more I reached out, the more I found out and the better I felt. The services provided are vital and offer a genuine lifeline in people's time of need.

Life is precious and people need to know that they are never alone - help is at hand. I am proud to pay forward the support I received during my experience as a patron of Ayrshire Cancer Support."
