Extreme Camp Out for Cancer!!!

This winter, can you brave the elements and camp out for cancer? Are you tough enough to take on one of our most extreme fundraising challenges? Extreme Camp Out for Cancer is truly a camp like no other. Swap your cosy bed for a sleeping bag in the cold and help raise funds and families in Ayrshire affected by Cancer. This one isn't for the faint hearted. We are looking for extreme challengers, who can rise to the challenge and go the extra distance in winter conditions.

COME AND HAVE A GO IF YOU THINK YOU'RE TOUGH ENOUGH!!!

How do I get involved?

You have a choice of joining us on Saturday 19th March from 9pm-7am at Ayr Racecourse where you will join many others and come together to camp out for cancer OR you can pick your own challenge in the months of December, January and February. Can you be an extreme camper and do a whole week or even a month!?

The live event - Saturday 19th March: Ayr Racecourse 9pm-7am

Extreme camp out for cancer is simple. For one night, give up the luxury of your bed, swap it for a tent at Ayr Racecourse (in the middle of the track) and battle the elements outdoors all for a wonderful cause. Participants are required to bring the appropriate equipment and wear relevant clothing and footwear.

Participants will be aiming to raise £200 in sponsorship which will guarantee your pitch and cover certain costs associated with our event.

Virtually - anytime in the months of December, January and February

Can't make our live event? Bring together a dream team of friends, family and colleagues, students, and members of your community to put on your very own Extreme Camp Out for Cancer. You need to pick somewhere to make the experience meaningful for you and the people who sponsor you, but it can take place anywhere! Our Camp Out for Cancer virtual happens whenever, and however you choose. Find a safe and legal place where you can camp on a night of your choosing.

Is Extreme Camp Out for Cancer safe?

Whether you are joining us on March 19th or running one on your own, our top priority is your safety. Common sense is important, but there are a few things we would recommend that you consider to keep yourself and others safe within in the law.

Due to anticipated severe weather conditions, this event will be exceptionally challenging, both mentally and physically. Therefore, participants must be in an appropriate physical condition to take part. Any medical condition you may have must be declared to us and you must confirm that you have no medical condition that would make your participation hazardous. By signing up to our live event on February 19th, you consent to medical care and transportation to obtain treatments in the event of injury. When you sign up we will send you information about camping in winter conditions for both our live event and if you decide to go virtual.

How will we support you?

After you sign up, you'll be an official Camp Out for Cancer extreme and you'll receive the following from us:

  • Fundraising ideas and resources
  • Social media filters and other fun assets to make sharing online easier
  • Camp Out for Cancer Extreme activity ideas and useful information
  • A dedicated staff member to answer any questions and provide support based on your needs
  • Use of Ayrshire Cancer Support Camp out for Cancer Extreme supporter logo.

This challenge will push your physical and mental limits - when was the last time you did something for the first time? So, what are you waiting for?

Registration Now Closed!

Please note:  this event is for adults only – due to the extreme elements involved no children are allowed to take part.
