Edinburgh Marathon Festival

Three separate running events – all on one day! This will now be one of the biggest running festivals in the UK. Ayrshire Cancer Support is an affiliated charity of this event and can offer you a guaranteed place!
The Edinburgh Marathon, with an overall elevation drop of 40m, is the fastest marathon in the UK. In numbers, it is second only to the London Marathon in the UK, with over 16,000 runners taking part.
The 2012 Scottish Half Marathon will take place on the same day as the full Edinburgh Marathon but is planned to start earlier, ensuring only one set of runners on the course at any one time. However, it will still capture the big race excitement of the Edinburgh Marathon and the grandstand finish at Musselburgh Racecourse.
There is also the option of entering The Team Relay with a team of 4 runners. The team relay is split into four legs of differing distances and is run concurrently on the same course as the marathon. The longest leg is about 8 miles and the shortest leg is around 5 miles. Relay runners must be at least 17 years old for the two longer legs and 15 years old for the two shorter legs. The relay is a great way for runners to raise funds for charity too because they can share the fundraising between the team.
