WE ARE MOVING IN KILMARNOCK

Ayrshire Cancer Support has operated in Kilmarnock since 1982 providing emotional support and practical help for cancer patients and their families.
The group moved to their present centre at 16 Portland Road, Kilmarnock, in 1991 from where they have provided their much valued transport and clinical services.
The number of people coming to the group for help has increased considerably over the years and the group are now struggling for space in its Portland Road premises.
Commencing on 25th January 2010 work will commence on refurbishing and extending the centre to enable the group to cope with increasing demand. The work is expected to take about 3 or 4 months to complete and during this time ACS will be moving to temporary accommodation at 11c Grange Place, Kilmarnock.
Contact telephone numbers and email addresses will remain the same if anybody needs to make contact.
Commenting on the expansion John Beck, Chief Executive of ACS said ‘ We have been planning an expansion and improvement of our Kilmarnock centre for some time to enable us to cope with the increased demand for our services.

The people of Ayrshire have been tremendous supporters of our charity for many years and we hope their support will continue. We recently refurbished our Ayr centre and when we move back to our new premises in Kilmarnock we will have increased running costs.

If anyone is planning a fundraising event for 2010 I would kindly ask that we might be considered as a beneficiary. We do not receive any form of funding for any of our services, we have to rely on our fundraising initiatives, the revenue from our charity shops and the generosity and support of the people of Ayrshire.
We look forward to moving back to our new centre in April and we hope our clients will derive benefit from our improved facilities.’
